We've had such a fun week with Uncle Jake here. He's been such a great help with the kids, and we've tried to entertain him, and he's been a good sport to put up with our travels and adventures. Tuesday night we headed to a local minor league baseball game, the Renegades ate some yummy ball park food (that is the reason I go!) and watched fireworks. The kids loved it. Lyv kept saying "oh, so pretty!" Jack on the other hand didn't appreciate how loud they were. Loud noises seem to give him the fright sees.
For the 4th we tried to beat the record high temps here in the east by heading to a favorite swimming spot. The Big Deep - our good friends the Baptista's introduced us to this swimming hole near Woodstock, and it's perfect for the kids. I love any thing that provides activities for the varied ages of my kids. Sam can swim, Jack can try to swim, and Lyv can wade and play with rocks. Minus the heavy dose of marijuana smoke we hiked into on our exploration of the creek (yep this is Woodstock - the guy was even wearing a Bob Marley tie dye shirt!) it was perfect. We finished the 4th with a salmon bbq, a flag cake, and some old American past-times baseball and basketball! Yesterday we took Jake to Belleayre beach, and had another great day cooling off in the water. Today we all just took it easy. Thanks Jake for coming out, we had a great time with you!
I just have to note this last picture of Lyv. If I haven't already mentioned... she has some MAJOR drama and attitude. She really will let you have it if things aren't going her way. This is point in case. She wanted Sam's bat, clutched it for dear life and started to yell, "Let go!" in her I'm possessed by some sort of devil voice. Love this little angel, but there is a streak of sassy I'd prefer to only see in small doses!
