Jack is Back with Avengance!!

Toward the tail end of our trip to Idaho, Jack started to get a little stomach flu. This happens nearly every time we go home. And I have to admit, although I don't like Jack to feel sick, and I DO like how he behaves when he is sick - that being mellow, chill, relaxed, staying in one spot for an entire minute or maybe two! However, the life has sprung back into his little frame with all it's zest and fury. Sometimes this doesn't end with happy results! Here's the scenario: Because of constant rain and warm weather are lawn had turn into a thick jungly mess while we were gone. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday trying to mow this beast. It is a beast - and it was hot and humid outside. I left the boys to watch a movie while Lyv was napping and I manned the mower. I'm almost done, and I look like I've been dowsed with buckets of water, and red in the face when Sam scampers yelling out words. All I get over the sound of the mower is Jack - bean bag chair - mess. That is enough to send me running into the house. I discover that both boys have be enjoying a bean bag stuffing bath during my absence! I'm furious to say the least, hot, sweaty, and thirsty. So I start cleaning up - Jack goes back and starts dumping the beans out again! I give him three sharp spankings, he starts to cry (and if you know Jack this is a good thing, because he usually laughs when I spank him). The boys are sent to the kitchen to clean up the beans they trailed there, while I attempt to shovel the stuffing back into the bean bags. All I can say is Jack is feeling better!

He did however give Lyv her first ride on the Gator and did a great job. She loves it. She also loves babies! She says, "Hi Baby" pats them, hugs them, pokes their eyes out, and repeats. She has really started to spout out a lot of words lately, no surprise to me, because she's been babbling since birth! "Uh-oh" "Jack" "Hi Dad" "Hi Guys" "Please" "Popcorn" "Thanks" "Ma!!!" "All done" "Shoes" She also knows were her body parts are, and follows directions better than the boys do. Her hair has grown a lot in the past little bit, and I'm hoping to try more do's if she'll let me. She really REALLY doesn't like her hair done. She still loves cars and trucks and mud - and makes all appropriate noises with them.

I have a HUGE inclination that Jack and Lyv are going to become quite a gruesome twosome this year, without Sam's motherly supervision. Heaven help me to be patient, and heaven help them to find constructive ways to play!

SFHS 10 Year Reunion and Goodbye!

Alas.... my last Reunion! It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since I graduated from SFHS, and it was a real treat to get to see some of the people I grew up with my entire life. One of the great things about attending a small school, is that you really grow up with the people you graduate with and know them from nearly 12 years. Though we were small in numbers, it was a great night. Jack was still feeling a little under the weather, so Shawn spent a lot of the time getting him to the bathroom. I however, enjoyed catching up with everyone.

I especially loved seeing my two best friends - Nicolette and Ashley. We were the Neopolitan Girls in High school because of the red - blonde - brown hair. And we had just as colorful time in tearing up the high school while we were there.

My in-laws always laugh at my wierd obsession with St. Anthony, but I think it is mostly due to the incredible people that live here. I enjoyed all of my time growing up and I can't imagine a better place to do that.

We said our goodbyes to our family after this, which I was so glad we got one extra day so I could see my little brother J.D. Now take a close look - J.D. is now a fire fighter fighting forest fires in the west. He has really gotten into the role, and has grown a full on mountain man - Grizzly Adams beard. The funny thing is that he looks EXACTLY like my dad! It is almost scary. I got see his new beard and his newest baby - Thad. Such a looker! J.D. wasn't through with suprises and fun... to make his stop more meaningful he pulled his bear hide out of the freezer to show the nieces and nephews! They were terrified at first, but then loved it.

I ended my stay with a little photo shoot of Chad and Katie's families. There were many pictures taken, but these are just two. Thanks for letting me practice on you guys.

We had a great time in Idaho, and I have to say dreaded in a way coming back to New York with no future plans to come back until we're done here. We love and miss everyone already!

Summers' Family Reunion

Our reunions continue..... We got together with all of Shawn's family for a day of fun! The kids did beach crafts and got some beach blankets! They walked in the grain field following the circle's track and got lost out of sight for long enough to start me worrying. Grandpa and Shawn found them circling back the opposite direction at the hollow! We broke out the slip-n' slide (it was a HUGE tarp) and oh, so fun.

We went fishing at Danny's pond. This is an incredible fishing experience because you caught a garaunteed HUGE fish nearly everytime! It is caught and release, but so fun. Unfortunately Jack started to feel a little sick at this point in the day, so he, Lyv and I headed to bed before the fish started to bite. Next time!

and ate some yummy food. And of course, took updated pictures. Aren't these cute kids?

Shawn's beautiful family

Shawn's other not-so-beautiful family.....
Okay this is a little bit better!

ANd I just love these curls! Lyv please, please keep them!

BYU Roommate Reunion

The main reason for coming to Idaho this summer was for a reunion with my college roommates. These ladies and their families are INCREDIBLE.

Emily - Erin - Bekah - Me - Phirf - Nathalie

Really we've all stayed so close to each other, and yes we still get a long after living with each other. In fact we all stayed together until we either got married or graduated. I love these girls! Thank you ALL for coming from such long distances (1 New York; 2 Virginia: 1 Nebraska, & 1 Arizona), with crazy flights, and I'm sure unhappy children at times to make this happen. We had a great time. Emily - Bekah - Phirf Shawn Water Skiing Sam and Colton Tubing

Lyv's Bootylicious Bum...oh yeah!

We stayed at Shawn's family cabin on Bill's Island in Island Park. We boated, water skiied, jet skiied, tubed, fished, ATE, went to Yellowstone National Park, ATE, went to Big Springs, played games, soaked in the hot tub, Ate, and LAUGHED!! Way too hard at times. It was so fun to get together this time with all of our children, and finally see them in person. 10 years and we still have a great time together.

Sunday: Big Springs - start of the Snake River

Lyving LOVES animals, and pointing at them. She always says, "Hi Baby!"

Tuesday: Yellowstone

Since we've live so close to Yellowstone, we've all had a chance to see Old Faithful on many occasions and we left the group to explore the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and the waterfalls that run through the canyon! It is AMAZING and you finally see how Yellowstone gets it's name. Such a beautiful part of the world.

Country Cousins, Flips, & Robinson's

After the Hill Family Pioneer Day Extravaganza we headed over for some time with our "country cousins". Since we city folk don't get the opportunity to enjoy all this fresh air living we took full advantage.

Jack nutured some baby kitties with Keaton. He watered down the pigs (named Bacon and Porker) with Michelle. Picked and shelled peas fresh from the garden. Followed by a tasting, where Jack discovered he didn't like the peas in his mouth. I asked him if he would like them in his ear then, and so he decided to test that out. Yep! He does like them in his ears.

While Jack was out getting his farm on, Sam was with Grandma Julie-dog BUYING his country experience. We came back from what we would consider a VERY sucessful trip to CAL Ranch - boots, hat, shirt, vest, the works! After all the cousin time, both Hill and Summers' cousins took time for their own family vacations, and that gave us some extra time to work on cool things like learning how to do a front flip! Sam rocks this trick now. We also went up to the Rexburg Temple since it is only 15 minutes away and took some pictures of the kids. I love this one of Lyv, in her tutu dress and tutu shoes at the temple doors. One day little princess you'll go inside!

After about 2 days on our own, we decided to head up with the Robinson crew to the cabin and test out the water. It was beautiful and the kids had a blast swimming around.
