Fort Simcoe

Located on the Yakima Indian Reservation in White Swan, near Wapato, is an old army fort called Fort Simcoe.  It was built in the 1850's and used to help in the wars with the Native Americans.  Many of the buildings have remained, and have been preserved.  Now its a state park.  Our friends the Anderson's invited us to check it out.  We had an awesome time - and especially enjoyed the military reenactment.

The site included several commander's homes that were original structures.  In one home the wallpaper was even original.  They were really fun to see.

This used to be an old bench built into two trees.  The bench broke, so the tree has healed itself over the wood.

Sam thought it was funny to "releave" himself in the old toilet at the jail.
