Since We've Been Home….

It took a few days to get back into the swing of things…but unfortunately for us we didn't have a few days!  We got home Friday afternoon, and Saturday had a full schedule of basketball, birthday parties, and church assignments to get ready for!  Sam had his 3rd Pinewood Derby…but because of our Hawaii trip and my laziness…and (okay my laziness!) Sam agreed to re-use his first derby car.  Hey it worked - and it was stress free and all is well in the world!  He won a few races and was happy to be able to participate.  (On a side note - don't you love his basketball shorts and scout shirt combo! Poor guy literally ran from practice into the derby! He's a busy little bee)

At church they have challenged the kids to do an act of service everyday.  They gave them a journal to record those acts…here is one from our sweet Lyvie!  I just love this girl!

Jack is enjoying his first year of basketball thus far.  He has a really fun group of boys playing with him, and he seems to be picking up the fundamentals well.  He was a little frustrated last game because no one would pass the ball to him.  This age is hilarious to watch as they travel most of the way down the court, pass over top of everyone, and try to score all the baskets themselves!  It was hard to explain that it will get better, but it might take a few years to get the idea of passing the ball to take hold! But the good news is, that Jack's team is undefeated! 3-0!! Go Panthers!

Finally Spirit Week!  Oh Spirit Week!  This is something that I love!  But Olyvia is the only child that shares that same love as me.  The boys are crazy and don't like drawing any form of attention to themselves…so they don't want to do anything that is out of the ordinary, even if everyone else will be participating!  So Lyv and I found this great idea on the mothership of ideas (Pinterest) and it was a success!  Cupcakes for Crazy Hair Day!  She looks pretty sweet to me!
