3 Months with Miss Eva

What a wonderful glorious angel this girl is!  I can't say enough about her.  She is happy, she eats well, she sleeps well, she smiles on cue, she's alert and so active.  She has 6 Eva fans that would do just about anything to make her happy, and you'll see why!  I am always amazed at how much I love this baby stage of life with all of my kids.  Don't get me wrong I'm exhausted by the end of the day, and I have walked out of the house without brushing my teeth on occasion...but to be the center of their world - the one person they find ultimate comfort and safety with is joy that cannot adequately described in words.  Their sticky hands and feet, the rolls under their chins and around their arms and thighs.  The cute squeaks and squawks they coo as they try to communicate to you is worth every tired bone in my body!

At 3 months Eva continues to resemble Olyvia to a T!  She has bright beautiful blue eyes, and always get so many compliments on those and her incredibly squishy cheeks.  She basically sleeps through the night going from 9:30 - 5:30 and then eats and sleeps again until 8 am.  She rolled over for the first time May 17th and has become a pro at that ever since.  I often find her now on her tummy yelping for someone to see her great accomplishment.

This is a frequent beauty mishap - the headband is a must so people know she is in fact a girl, but beauty comes at a cost!

She discovered her tongue right after 10 weeks and was constantly found with it dangling out of her mouth.  Now she is starting to teethe, and her fist has quickly replaced her tongue.  Lots and lots of knuckle sandwiches for this little lady.

You can tell she has quite the fan club.  Everyone works their hardest at getting her to smile or laugh!

Her first major outing came on the 19th of May - when our Crapo cousins visited.  We headed to Seattle for the Mariner's game and a trip up the Seattle Space Needle.  I have a feeling Eva will be a world class traveler at a young age!

She really makes my heart soar each and everyday.  I walk into her room in the morning and she instantly grins from ear to ear and starts kicking!  She is a chatterbox and carries on long conversations when she is given the chance.  She does spend a large portion of the day in her car seat, running around dropping siblings off at all their various activities, and she has become a trooper.  She is either asleep or crying in the carseat...luckily its mostly asleep!

Getting knocked in the Conk!

After the huge fall we had to wait about a week for a surgery date to open up.  I decided to take pictures of the healing process.
Here is Jack Day #3

Day #4:

Then finally surgery day arrived.  Monday, May 1st we arrived at the surgery center at 7:30 am.  Jack was actually excited at first, the novelty of surgery made him almost giddy.
Then they brought in the IV cathedar...that's when it started to get real!  They had to stick him at two seperate sites because his veins rolled.  He didn't love that, but still didn't shed a tear.  I think at that point he realized this wasn't all fun and games.  The surgery was more invasive than they had planned because there was more scar tissue there.  It looked like he had injured his nose before, so they had to open him up to set the bone.  He was pretty miserable afterwards but still no tears!

It wasn't until later Monday night that he started to really feel pain, and he was a trooper still.  It broke my heart to see him so miserable.  I told him I wish there was something more I could do to relieve his pain.  He got tears in his eyes, and said he just wanted me to sleep by him.  I gladly agreed.  He didn't have much of an appetite until about 10:30 and a Dilly Bar is the only thing that sounded good.  (Thanks to our friends the Belliston's).  Tuesday morning came and he was still not feeling great.  His nose constantly dripped and it hurt to smile, sneeze, anything!  It was so sad to see Jack out of his element.  He is so smiley and happy that it made the recovery that much worse to nurse him through because I couldn't see my regular happy-go-lucky boy!  Finally that afternoon, after watching AFV I saw a small smile!!

The rest of the week he stayed home from school and slowly started to feel better.  His runny nose turned to congestion, the tubes up his nostrils don't help with that.  But he is getting there.
So many of our family and friends sent little gifts and words of love and encouragement.  We are grateful for all of those who prayed and thought of Jack during this rough week.  I think he has changed his mind about surgery.  It wasn't all fun and games this time around.  He would look at me some of the time like "why is this so painful" and I wish I could help him get rid of the pain instantly.  I hope he also has learned to approach things with more caution and listen to us when we ask him to avoid activities that might result in an injury.  I love this guy more than words can say.  He frustrates me like no one else, but at exactly the same time makes me laugh out loud or sit in awe at how intelligent and observant he is.  He is one of a kind!

A Fence!!! Hooray!!! Best day every for us and for Stone.  We are loving the freedom this allows.  He sits up on the deck and patiently waits for us to come and play.  It makes for dirty windows, but its nice to know he's right there.
Child labor is so awesome! Teaching them young!

Easter Best

Egg-static about Easter hunt this year...eggs had $$$ in them, so it was worth the search! I couldn't wait to hide the eggs outside this year and start that tradition with our kids.  I have such fond memories of searching for eggs each year with my siblings and going to signature spots that my dad use to hide the eggs.  I hope my kids enjoy it as much as I did.

I had to take a snapshot of Max at this age and stage.  He is my right hand man, and my helper of all things from house, to yard, to PTSA, to Young Women's and everything in between.  This is a typical Max look - complete with crazy undone hair and sweatshirt.  I can't describe how much I love love this boy!

I was cleaning Lyv's closet the other day and found this sweet note she had written to Eva. "I love Eva with all of my heart. I wish she sleeps in my room and she is so cute. Sincerely, Olyvia"  I just hope they always feel this way about each other! It made my day.

Finally - Talent Show 2017 - Lyv and her besties choreographed and performed a dance to "Can't Stop the Feeling" for the school talent show.  It was pretty adorable to say the least!

Jack..Jack..Jack..Jack...

My sweet, sweet Jack!  It has been a crazy 3 weeks for this boy! He started baseball and was loving being on the Angels.  On Lyv's birthday party day, as he headed down the stairs, he accidentally went right over the railing about 8 feet up and landed on his face, breaking his nose!  It was such a sad, sad day.  We could tell by the amount of swelling that this wasn't just going to go away on its own, so he met with the ENT and discovered his septum was badly deviated, completely covering his right nostril.  He would have to have surgery!

I had to add these hilarious "Safety Tips" that Jack submitted for his class.  It just illustrates so well his sense of humor and his life of living on the edge...that is to say, being a wee bit clumsy! #1 and #2 are tips based on real life experience!
