Holy Smokes! Life with four is a challenge. If I could always stay home, I think I could survive, but that isn't a reality, and so life must go on - without the help of family and friends, and eventually you have to brave the world on your own....and hope to survive. Max has been great about being a car seat baby. A fairly good amount of time is spent each day in the car driving Sam to the bus stop, driving Jack to and from preschool, and then picking Sam up from the bus. We have done this for a while, but with a newborn it is a bit more challenging. Especially getting to places on time!) So far we've been lucky to not be too late, or have Max too hungry. We all braved church on Sunday for the first time, and it was great. Max again was a trooper and the other kids are finally old enough that it isn't a constant battle.
Sam started wrestling on Monday and will be participating in this through March. Shawn took some video of him practicing moves, and it was pretty fun to watch. He did good, and seems to be excited about going each week. Hopefully he won't try his new found moves on his brother and sister!) I know this is just the tip of the iceberg with chasing after the kids, so I need to enjoy just the one practice a week idea!
After week after frustrating week, Lyv finally decided all by her little self that she could and would poop in the toilet! Hooray! We made a huge deal about it, and she finally got to watch DisneyJr. after a two week withdrawal. She has been so fun and sooooo girly lately! I know I've noted this before, but I can't believe how much more emotional she is compared to the boys. She cries over everything...I mean literally. She asks for gold and jewels, and if I can't provide them on the spot, she cries. And its a horrible loud cry, and then tries to talk through tears...(which no one can understand)....then she cries because she has tears on her face and they are making her face wet....which cause more tears! It is a vicious cycle! BUT- when she is sweet, she is like sugar! She dances, and twirls, and sings, and says things are so cute, and loves her hair being pretty, and being a princess. Times like this I could have 50 girls. The potty training has been hard to keep up with with a baby, but Lyv has quite an independent streak and seems to be mastering it on her own for the most part.
Jack is still the comedic relief at the house, and bless his little soul, we need that! He continues to fall down all the time, but without as many head wounds. He just gets back up and says, "I'm okay!" Lately he and Sam have been really into Call of the Wildman on Animal Planet. Jack quotes the Turtle Man all of the time with phrases like: "Live Action" and "Get that Critter!" He always says the Animal Planet slogan with the "surprisingly Human" part and that just cracks me up. He is by far the best helper with Max, and is my errand boy getting diapers, blankets, etc. He seems to be super excited for Christmas this year, and so I can't wait to see his face when Santa comes. He again asked for the most random stuff: An attendance board (like they have at preschool), smelly markers, and Dennis the Menace!
Parting shots of Maximus: First meet Max and his chins! Seriously he has like 10 chins.
Love this picture....my tired boys!
The boys put Max in the swing and gave him a toy to hold....how sweet is that!
