My extremely talented friend Erica took pictures of Jack last Friday, and did a wonderful job, that I can't help but post them for all of you to see! Isn't he such a beautiful boy?? Well I won't make you answer that, but as his mother, I can answer completely unbiased that he is in fact BEAUTIFUL! (okay Erica's great photography skills might add to it too!) Enjoy.
I loved these pictures of the two of us, and after listening to President Uctdorf's talk at the R.S. General meeting, I have to agree that my greatest joy has come from the two little boys that I have helped create.

Summers Sons' Saturday Soup
We had a fun and busy week with the two boys, and I'm trying to get use to having two kids (oh, I was so niave to think that I can still get all my "things" done in between feedings, diaper changes, playing with Sam, etc.) Jack hung out with his friend Claire and experienced his first trip to the Blank Park Zoo. Sam being the great big brother he is showed him the ropes, and decided that Jack's favorite part was seeing the lions.
Shawn made a new best friend when we were feeding the farm animals - the llamas couldn't get enough of him, and Shawn loved them back.Sam stayed busy helping me dig up the flower bed and then play in the mud and hunt for spiders in the window wells - and we found a whopper! He's been pretty good with Jack, but seems to be finally feeling the impact of having to share time with another person. I only beat him once or twice a day for climbing on top of Jack to give him a kiss, so I feel like we are doing pretty good (J/K). He's been noticing that Jack doesn't like to have his stomach squished and crys when this happens, and he said to me "Mom, Jack doesn't like me." I asked him why, and he said, "Because I'm mean to him." At least he's making the connection, but this correlation hasn't changed his approach to loving his brother. Overall, he's been really good, and I'm so happy that he seems to love Jack so much.

Brotherly Love
Jack had his 2 week check up and everything was great. He is 8 lbs. 6 oz. (gained 1 pound) and 20 1/2 inches long, and 50% in everything. He is still doing great, and last night only woke up once sleeping for 5 hours and then 3 1/2 hours! I love this little guy.
The story I can't wait to tell brought tears to my eyes. I told Sam we had to take Jack to the doctor, and Sam asked if he had to get a shot. I couldn't remember so I said maybe. Sam started to scream and cry, and I asked him what was wrong and he said "We can't take him there Mom, he'll get hurt!" Ohhhh.... needless to say I started to cry and comforted Sam by telling him it would make Jack big and healthy if they had to give him shots and it only hurts for a minute. Despite the laying on him to kiss him and poking his nose and face, Sam really does love Jack! I'm sure Jack loves Sam too.

READYSET, GO . . .Day at the Apple Orchard
An Ear of Corn - literally. This is what happens when you swim in a pool of corn, we're still finding in it crevises and corners you wouldn't believe. IOWA GROWN
Jump Pillow
This goat was about 15 feet off the ground, on this tiny platform just munching on some food - he must have been starving!Cowboy Up
Shawn is the self proclaimed master of stiltz - he says he owes all of his success to hours wasted working for BYU's sprinkler crew with Kaelub. They used and ruined shovels for practice.Sam's absolute favorite part of the day was riding the pedal tractors!!! Future Farmer???
This was such a great place and it had the Three Little Pigs houses (straw, stick and brick) that the kids could go inside and act out the story! We had a great day at the orchard, and made away with some cider slushies, cider donuts, and a bag of crisp and deliscious apples!
Here are some parting shots of Jack - he such a great baby, and we're loving him more and more each day.
Newborns are so hard for me to take good pictures of - the camera always seems to catch the strangest angles and expressions, and here's a great example of that.
Soooo Tired

What Princess Are You??
My friend Allison had this on her blog, and who doesn't think they are a princess deep down. My nickname in my family is Princess - so I have a thing for the whole fairy tale thing...but I'm not sure Pocahantas would fit me, although like I said on Allison's blog John Smith was a pretty good looking cartoon character, and I dig my nice animal skin dress that fits just right if you know what I mean, not to mention the long silky black hair, okay I guess I really am satisfied with Pocahantas.
You Are Pocahantas!

You Are Pocahantas!
Free-spirited and wise. You have a strong passionate spirit that touches and changes all who know you. The wisdom and common sense that you have is really what guides you through life. Even so, you also have a very playful side that loves adventure and excitement.

1st Bath, BBQ in the rain, & Brothers
Sam is loving Jack, and really is doing good so far with him. He is always wanting to kiss and hug him, and lets me know if he's awake, if he's crying, or if he's hungry. He gets pretty concerned if I don't go to him right away - what a good big brother.
Jack's umbilical cord fell off on Friday, so he had his first bath in the tub! He really seemed to like the actual bath part, but as soon as we took him out and started to lotion and dress him, he was cold and let us know it.
Sam and Shawn decided to brave the weather and grill in the rain. Sam was slipping and sliding all over the deck, but it was worth it the steaks turned out great.
Of course I have to add yet another face shot of Jack, he's getting so chubby already!

I have taken the cutest pictures of Jack and Sam the past two days, and I couldn't help but post them. Sorry if you all get sick of seeing new pictures, but who cares what you think right?
Sam has loved sharing his cars with Jack. Yesterday I walked in to check on Jack and found one of Sam's cars in his crib. Sam loves his brother!
I LOVED this picture - he was of course dreaming of me. Here Jack is dreaming of his dad!!Me and My Sweet Boy.

More Pictures!!!
Here are some more pictures of Jack and Sam. We are just loving him up and he is the best baby. He has been eating and sleeping great. Last night I only woke up once! He is such a cute and perfect baby and Sam is loving being a big brother. He was up in his room yesterday talking to him in a baby voice trying to wake him up. He would like to name him Jack Sam, so that they both have "S" as their name. We'll try to talk him out of this.
My mom has been out here helping me and Sammy boy, and has been a huge help. She's making it seem like this two kid thing is easy, boy will I be missing her when she leaves!!
The person who I feel sorry for is Shawn - he's been really busy at school this week and has hardly been able to see Jack, but last night he was able to cuddle him for a few hours.
