Idaho Fun and Follies!

The kids were SOOOO excited to get to Idaho and be surrounded by their cousins.  We do we ever have fun cousins.  The first day there we broke out the table and set up a lemonade stand.  The kids are so clever in their sales that after seeing that sitting and waiting for cars wouldn't get them a lot of money, they took their tasty beverage on the road and did door-to-door sales.

We also couldn't wait to get into some water - Idaho was surprisingly warm this summer and so any form of water recreation was a plus.  Rexburg Rapids was a hit.  You won't see Sam in many of these because he spent most of his time on the slides.  Jack and Lyv loved the pool and Jack really became quite a fish.  Although... he looks more like he's drowning than swimming so he gave the lifeguards a few scares with his dead man float and his coming out of the water gasping for breath, not able to balance quite yet "stroke".

Lyv would karate chop the water geysers, yelling "Hi-Ya!" Once or twice the water spray won!
It would not be a trip home without a visit to the Sand Bar~ the kids really loved it this year.  Jack loved being able to warm himself up in the hot, hot sand - head and all.  Sam had a blast on the slide here and catching minnows.

Kaderick - or Ricky was one of Lyv's favorite people.  She thought he was so cute. She was surprisingly very soft with him, so this gave me some sense of hope that she'll be that way with baby brother!

We hiked Cave Falls, which was BEAUTIFUL!  The kids were troopers.  Lyv is quite the hiker and I only had to pack her on the last quarter.

Jack and Cy - the frenemies~ they either loved each other or were literally beating each other up!

What would this post be without a near run to the emergency room with Jack?  At the Ashton's Jack fell into a window well not once but twice!  The first time he came out with only a scrape, as fate would have it - the second time his luck ran out and he nearly put his teeth through his bottom lip.  Luckily Aunt Mic is friends with a local doctor who took a quick look to determine whether he really needs stitches, and we were able to avoid the emergency room, but not a nasty fat lip!

Folly # Dos!  The Rope swing.  Here is Sam daring the rope swing.  All the boy cousins, including Jack, loved swinging like Tarzan from the tree, HOWEVER....as they got more daring, this became more dangerous and eventually resulted in my nephew Tanner breaking both bones in his arm.  That officially put an end to the kids' days as George of the Jungle.

Complete with Tarzan chest beating and war whoops!
