Jack's birthday was great. He woke up to a room full of balloons, bubbles and fish. Shawn and I tried to make it under sea-ish since Jack loves fish, so I asked Shawn to draw a few pictures of fish to hang up. Now mind you, SHawn can NEVER, and I mean NEVER do any art-related thing just mediocre. Me I would have outlined a few fish in about 3 minutes and colored them in - DONE. Not Shawn, he created exact replicas of fish from Finding Nemo. What a stud and a dud, how do I compete with that? Jack opened his gifts which he loved - a shopping cart, a tent complete with sleeping bag, backpack, and flashlight, and a scooter. He thought he was pretty hot stuff. We went out to lunch and met Shawn (who was on call Labor Day) and then went to a local park and played. We had dinner and waited - very patiently I might add (I just loved that they were sitting right in front of the door watching for Shawn) for Shawn to come home to sing and eat cake. During the wait Jack practiced his candle blowing and sang the happy birthday song to himself several times. It was absolutely adorable. He finally got to dive into his turtle cake and he loved this one just as much as he loved his tractor last year, with not quite as much mess. Happy Birthday Jack-O!! We visited the doctor for Jack's 2 year check up, all was well - yes even the head wounds are apparently normal. He weighed 26 lbs. 2 oz.(just under 50%) and was 35 inches long(just under 75%), his head was 50 cm (um can we get a 90%)- still sporting a Big Ol' Noggin. Love you big boy.

you guys are such good parents! You are so fun with your boys. Shawns fish are pretty dang impressive. I would have done one of those fish that's like drawing an 8 and colored it orange. haha. I'm glad he had a great birthday!!!
